As we go through life, our roles multiply.
Our colors shift as our positions change.
Humans, in their essence, must exist in a more multifaceted, fluid, and ever-changing state.

I was born as a woman.
At 28, I underwent a year of testosterone therapy.

When appearances change, so do roles.
Can a person truly be confined to a single gender?

I am constantly evolving.

“Be more ladylike.”
“But you’re a man.”

These are phrases we often hear.

The societal role of gender,
The sense of gender within oneself,
The aging body and its relation to gender—
Humans are bound to change and exist in response to these.

Do the simplified figures of women and men on restroom signs
truly represent anyone in the real world?

To live is to exist within society.
By broadening the scope of interpretation,
facts—and consequently, the future—expand.
And the future itself continues to evolve.
