ベン図のように、ものごと、自然、人々など私たちを取り巻く環境は包含関係にある。

私なりに人が成り立つ要素を8つの面に分け、全てが重なっている箇所にグロスでSOTAIのシルクスクリーンをしている。

一見すると見えづらいSOTAIは、様々な環境の中で生きる私たちだ。

Like a Venn diagram, the things, nature, people, and other aspects of our environment are interrelated and inclusive. I have divided the elements that make up a person into eight facets, and I use gloss to create a silk screen of SOTAI at the intersection where all these facets overlap. SOTAI, which may seem difficult to see at first glance, represents us living in various environments.

世界には国籍や肌の色、性別、子ども、大人…カテゴライズをするといろんな人がいるけれど、みんな”人”という点で共通だ。そんな誰もがあてはまる人の記号SOTAI(=素体)を通して、日々の暮らしの中で感じる感情をペイントで表現している。

2020年、初個展”people”を大阪で開催。

今回は地元に近い和歌山で”people”を開催、新旧作を含めた総合的な展示を予定。

SOTAIは土地を行き来し、その土地の人と時を共に過ごす。

In the world, there are people categorized by nationality, skin color, gender, age, and more, but we all share the common point of being "human." Through the symbol of "SOTAI" (素体), which represents a universal figure for all, I express the emotions I feel in daily life through painting.
In 2020, I held my first solo exhibition, "people," in Osaka.
This time, I will be presenting "people" in Wakayama, close to my hometown, with a comprehensive exhibition including both new and old works.
SOTAI moves between places, spending time with the people of each land.

Icon series

SNSのアイコンに見立てたシリーズです。

デジタル上での自分とリアルで生きている自分の狭間には揺らぎが生じます。

This series is based on the concept of social media icons.
There is a fluctuation between the self that exists in the digital realm and the self that lives in reality.

Polygon series

物事は違う面から見ると違う捉え方ができる。すべてのできごとは一面では成り立っていない。いろんな面が複合されて一つのできごと、物語、人になる。

私は去年行われた個展で、人は自然物の地層のように経験や得た知識が層になり蓄積されていくことを主なテーマに作品を制作した。線の重なりがその人らしさになるのではないかと考えた。

今回の個展では、線という物事の始まりと終わりが見えるラインの積み重ねが面であることに着目し、どの事象を面と捉えるのか、さらに面の分断を社会の枠組みと考え、地続きに思える事象の流れの瞬間を

それぞれの面とし、作品に留めている。

面の分断は強制的な区切りかもしれないし、自分の決意かもしれない。

正六面体の展開図は11通りある。

1つのものが11通りの方法に展開できる。

それは人がそのときの環境により変わるのと似ている。

カラフルな背景は折り紙の色から引用した。折り紙もまた、１つのものからさまざまなものに変化することができる。

Things can be seen from different perspectives, and by looking at them from different angles, we can interpret them in various ways. Every event is not made up of just one aspect; rather, it is the combination of many facets that form a single event, story, or person.

In my solo exhibition last year, the theme was that human experiences and acquired knowledge accumulate as layers, much like natural strata. I considered the overlapping lines as what makes a person unique.

For this exhibition, I focus on the accumulation of lines, where the beginning and end of things are visible, and how these layers become surfaces. I examine which events can be considered as surfaces, and further think of the division of these surfaces as a framework of society. The flow of seemingly continuous phenomena is captured as separate surfaces, frozen in the moment in my works.

The division of surfaces may be a forced boundary, or it could be a personal decision. There are 11 possible unfoldings of a regular hexahedron. One object can unfold in 11 different ways. This is similar to how a person changes depending on their environment at that moment.

The colorful background is inspired by the colors of origami. Like origami, a single thing can transform into various forms.
